- There is a Sept. 1843 record of Waterville where a Presbury West, Jr. was a witness. Presbury with wife and 3 young children and other adults in 1840 census. They apparently moved in the 1840's to the Jefferson, NH area. He was one of the incorporators of the White Mtn. Railroad under the Charter of 25 Dec 1848. Presbury is of St. Johnsbury, VT in Pembroke History. Living with Presbury and Mercy in 1850 Census of Jefferson, NH is Eliza L. Moore age 38 - all born Vermont - Presbury's occupation, 'lumber dealer'.
